My most recent illustration for the local alt-weekly paper in Asheville, NC (The Mountain Xpress) was commissioned for the purpose of illustrating the cover story of housing costs driving employees (in this case, city police officers) out of the city they work in, to live in less-expensive outlying areas. Here is the final art, followed by the printed version, which was altered to accommodate the needs of the cover text composition:
